Team Fortress 2 ESEA-Open Season 5 Champions
The eMazing Gaming’s Team Fortress 2 first had a long night ahead them, our Team Fortress 2 team played about 3 hours before actually being crowned Season 5 ESEA-Open Champions. The lineup that endured the 3 hours to claim the prize was:
Tyrone “enoryt” Wang Kevin “mackey” Mackey Grant “b4nny” Vincent
Tyler “blaze-” Brown Aaron “jnkx” Griffith Jess “move” M
This group first had to face off against Hostile Faction in the lower bracket finals on cp_badlands and it seemed the Hostile Faction came out strong and took a round. The eMg team never looked back and took 5 straight rounds to eliminate Hostile Faction from the playoffs and advanced themselves to the finals.
After beating Hostile Faction, the eMg team would meet Vires for the championship and since it is double elimination playoff the eMg team would have to beat Vires not just once but twice. Vires would only have to win on one of the maps to stop eMg from winning. Vires had beat eMg previously in the upper bracket by a score of 2-0 on cp_gravelpit.
On cp_granary, eMg showed what they were made out of and showed Vires that eMg won’t bow out quickly. eMg definitely showed they had this map down to a science with impressive skill and team work. eMg beat Vires with a score of 5 to 1 which made Vires take a step back and rethink the strategy they had brought to the finals. As eMg forced a second map against Vires but on cp_badlands which the eMg team just played on but against Hostile Factions.
It seemed like Vires was ready to play against eMg but now it was equal footings since it was the winner of this map to be declared champions. Both teams were playing with their backs against the wall and with a bit of desperation. Both teams were battling back and forth trading a point for a point and eventually eMg tied the score at an even 4 to 4. eMg was faced with two outcomes which was win the championship or lose the championship. They strived from the beginning of the season to now for this chance and they did not stop fighting just yet. As eMg and Vires were battling it out in the red base eMg moved in with an ubercharge and Tyler "Blaze" Brown capped the last point to win the map with a score of 5 to 4.
Everyone from eMazing Gaming would like to congratulate the Team Fortress 2 team on their win and wish them much luck in Season 6 of ESEA-Invite.
